Episode Title: 3D Hobbits, Island Adventure, and Where's My HBO?

Had a chance to see the Hobbit last week. Wasn't too happy about it costing $18.50 for a ticket, but guess that's the price you pay for IMAX 3d. Didn't get to see the 48 frames per second version, but that may not be such a bad thing. Overall enjoyed the film, some of the action scenes felt a little bit too cartooney and were heavily reliant on CG, but for the most part the movie did live up to my expectations and look forward to it's sequels.

At the recommendation of someone who does business with the office I work for, as well as being someone I consider a friend I picked up the game Farcry 3 for XBox 360. The reviewers as well as this friend say the best way to describe the game is Skyrim with guns. While Skyrim is a bit heavier with it's RPGness,(is that even a word lol) the analogy is pretty dead on. If you like open world RPG's and first person shooters, this ones a must have.

Where's my HBO? I went to continue watching Game of Thrones season 2 this week only to get the message that I am no longer subscribed to this package. Turns out my girlfriend, who I live with was up one night going through the channels and came upon some adult content on HBO, she was afraid her son who is a teenager might stumble upon this content so decided to cut the cord. Now I have to wait until they make the series available in Feb of 2013, or get my pirate happy friend to get me a copy. Oh well I guess I could wait, probably not worth getting anyone including myself into any trouble, but what's with the year wait from HBO? Allot of other networks make their content available a day later for us to buy and I don't mind paying for content I enjoy.

Episode Title: Content May Not B Suitable For B

Me and the old lady went back to Verizon after Optimum decided to jack the prices up by a decent amount after an intro only deal that lasted no more than three months. At least we got a free Kindle Fire out of it.

Now that I have HBO on demand with this package, I decided to get back into Game of Thrones, which I had only seen up to episode five of season one when it debuted in  2011. I started from the first episode but quickly remembered most of what I had seen and the previously on intro that comes on before each episode filled in the blanks so I went ahead to episode six, and am thoroughly enjoying this series so far. I did listen to the the whole book using Audible back in 2011, but seeing these characters brought to life in this amazing world is a real treat. The quality of this show is unrivaled for a TV presentation, and I hope that continues as I go forward watching it. One word of warning though allot of the content is not suitable for a younger crowd, so you have to find a place to watch where you know your kids won't walk in.

I decided to watch "The Texas Chainsaw the Beginning" movie which came out in 2006, and I'm assuming is a prequel to the remake of the original. I watched it off of Amazon prime, figured might as well get some use out of the service. I don't even know where to begin, if your into gore and excessive violence you'll love this one. Right from the opening scene which involves a heavy woman giving birth to a deformed baby in a butcher factory and then dying I could tell what to expect. The next scene involves the deformed baby being found in a dumpster and being taken in by a crazy looking woman and her cannibalistic family. All this before the opening credits. This movie is not for the faint of heart and I found myself turning away at various times during the movie, these things don't usually get to me but this movie is just plain sick. I was entertained by it, enough to finish watching to the end, but if I never watch this film again I won't be too sad about it. It's worth a one time watch if your into gory horror flicks but I wouldn't show it to anyone not into the genre.

Downloaded the demo for the Lord of the Rings MOBA style game Defenders of Middle Earth. After the hour trial decided it was worth getting. Really enjoying this League of Legends like game play on the console. It's a little more simplified in some ways, but still requires good team work and strategy to win. Only real drawback I could say is the wait times to get into a game can be up to five minutes in my experience, and most games are a bit laggy. However I think in time when the bugs get worked out this can be a great game, and definitely shows these games can be done on the consoles.

Even with his horrible stomach problems B still finds time to eat chocolate croissant, yummy!
